The Skutt KM-714 is a compact 7-sided kiln — about 14″ across by 13.5″ deep, roughly 1.4 cubic feet, with 2.5″ brick and a Cone 8 rating. It is a long-time favorite as a test, doll, and jewelry kiln. Three elements heat the small chamber; when firings start to slow we rewind the full set of three to Skutt's factory resistance for either 240V or 208V supply.

A full set is three elements. We wind all three to Skutt’s factory resistance so the small chamber heats evenly.
Is the KM-714 a Cone 10 kiln?
No — the KM-714 is rated to Cone 8. A fresh set of elements brings it back to full Cone 8 speed.
Does it run on 120V?
The KM-714 runs on 240V or 208V (it works on either), not a standard 120V household outlet.
